Heating composite is nothing new, but we believe the CalSet system is the most effective and easiest warming system available on the market today from our clinical evaluations.

The CalSet Multi-Tray Composite Warmer system allows you to easily and effectively to heat your composite compules (qty 4), composite syringes (qty 2), composite gun (including our CoMax Composite Gun) (qty 1) and even your composite finishing instruments (qty 2).

The CalSet has three heating modes of 98 °F(37°C) (setting 1), 130 °F(54°C) (setting 2) & 155 °F (68°C) (setting 3). We recommend the 155 °F setting 3 for our Wagofil Zirconium Infused Composite. For other brands, please refer to the manufacturers recommended heat setting, but it is usually at 155 °F (setting 3).

Studies have proven that warming the composite increases the depth of cure, improves the composite flow, shortens curing time, reduces micro-leakage and improves the physical properties of the composite.

  • Heats composite material to 98°F (37°C), 130°F (54°C) or 155°F (68°C)
  • Maintains constant temperature
  • Increases degree of cure
  • Shortens curing time by over 80%
  • Improves composite flow by 68%
  • Reduces Microleakage
  • Improves physical properties
  • Decreases shrinkage stress

Commonly Asked Questions

Q. Can the composite be left in the CalSet warmer all day and still be effective?
A. Yes.

Q. How long does it take to warm the composite?
A. Initially it takes 14 minutes to warm the unit and then 3 minutes to warm the composite.

Q. What temperature should be used for my composite?
A. In general, setting 3, which is 155°F (68°C)

Q. Does heating composite damage the pulp?
A. No, there is no damage to the pulp per documented studies.

Q. What effect does heat treatment have on polymerization?
A. All composite shrinks in the course of polymerization to a maximum based on their properties. Heat gets the material to reach maximum polymerization with lower light levels and in less time.

Q. Why should I heat my composite?
A. Studies show reduction in micro leakage, reduced stress and greater depth of cure.
