FANTASTIC! Patient was an 87 year old Japanese man who is in a care facility nearby, brought to my office in a wheelchair by his daughter. I do a procedure with mini implants directly into and around extraction sites and deliver an immediate bridge at the same appointment. I usually take over an hour for typical extractions, trying very hard (sometimes failing) to preserve bone so I have somewhere for my implants. Using traditional elevators, periotomes, forceps, etc., usually leads to difficult situations. My patient's daughter and I had agreed that we would only do the upper arch today unless the procedure went so well the patient could tolerate more work. He had 10 upper teeth and 10 lower teeth needing extractions. With some trepidation, we anesthetized the upper and started to work. 12 minutes later, all 10 teeth were out with NO breakage, NO bone loss, and NO trauma. The patient's daughter watched the whole thing and was as amazed as I was. We went ahead with the implants and temporization of the upper, and soon were ready to decide on the lower. The patient was still feeling fine, not the usual fatigue we get from long difficult extractions, so we proceeded to anesthetize the lower. SIX minutes later all 10 teeth were out again with absolutely NO problems. Cuspids, RCT treated teeth, a broken lower molar, all removed in next to no time. I can't recommended these any more highly. Trust me, if you have any experience with extractions the old fashioned way, these will change you life!
